SOUND BEGINNINGS is a valuable resource for building strong alphabetic principle skills and developing foundational reading abilities. The app features twelve interactive learning games that provide practice in phonics and reading. Players are able to identify the beginning, middle, or ending sound of a word in a fun and engaging way. The app also offers four unique games that help children learn the sounds of letters and how to use them.
Highlight Features:
- Six interactive games that focus on matching the correct letter/sound to the first, middle, or last sound of a word.
- The app uses lowercase letters instead of uppercase letters at the beginning, middle, and end of words for a more comprehensive learning experience.
- The first three games gradually increase in difficulty, allowing children to practice selecting the correct letter/sound for different positions within a word.
In the first game, players are shown a photo of an object and need to select the correct letter/sound for the beginning sound of the word. For example, they may see the letters "r, q, y, s, and j" and need to choose the "r" as the correct letter. The app provides audio feedback to reinforce learning.
